BERGEN MAGAZINE NAMES DR. FISHKIN AS A TOP OPHTHALMOLOGIST IN BERGEN COUNTY

In the June 2021 Top Doctors issue of Bergen Magazine, Dr. Fishkin was again named as a top ophthalmologist in Bergen County. Bergen Magazine commissioned Professional Research Services of Troy, Michigan to conduct a peer-review survey of thousands of practicing and active physicians across the county. Doctors were asked to select peers whom they deem are the best within their practice areas and whom they would seek out for particular procedures. All the final honorees were fact-checked with the State of New Jersey and the New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs License Verification System.

The safety of our patients is our highest priority. We have implemented strict precautions, including:
- Strict office cleaning and and exam room sanitizing protocols
- Exams are conducted while wearing masks and gloves
We continue to offer telemedicine (virtual) appointments for eye conditions that do not affect vision. If you are experiencing red eye or eyelid inflammation, an in-person exam is always best. But if you're not able to come in, we can provide a virtual exam through any camera-equipped cellphone, or your webcam. Call the office for details.
DR. FISHKIN NAMED A NEW JERSEY FAVORITE KIDS DOC

New Jersey Family magazine, based in Summit, NJ, released its latest list of the favorite doctors for children's healthcare. Dr. Fishkin was one of only eight ophthalmologists in the state of New Jersey on the list. The list appears in the December 2018 issue, and online at njfamily.com/thelist
According to NJ Family, "Only those physicians who've earned the trust and admiration of parents make the list. Period. There is no way to buy a spot. Since it's 100% parent-referrals, a spot on NJ's Favorite Kids' Docs list is a unique honor."
Dr. Fishkin enjoys taking care of the entire family. In our office, we see children getting their first glasses, their parents who come in to discuss LASIK, and their grandparents who may have cataracts, glaucoma, or other age-related issues.
JUNE IS CATARACT AWARENESS MONTH

June is Cataract Awareness Month. Inside our eyes, we have a natural lens that bends light in order to let us see things in focus. As we age, the lens typically becomes cloudy, which can impact the clarity of our vision. That cloudy lens is a cataract.
Once the vision is impacted to a significant degree, cataract surgery can be considered. In cataract surgery, the cataract is removed, and a clear artificial lens is implanted into the eye. This outpatient procedure is usually safe and effective.
Dr. Fishkin is an expert cataract surgeon. He is pleased to offer his patients the latest advances in cataract surgery, including special artificial lenses that correct astigmatism and difficulty with reading vision at the same time as the surgery.
